Dry Ice Other Food Drinks - Solid carbon dioxide. Used to produce the classic low-lying fog effect. When carbon dioxide is heated above -78'C it sublimes (goes straight from solid to gaseous phase). A white mist (which is actually water droplets condensing in the air) is formed.
