Everyone sits in a circle and one person holds the deck of cards and is the dealer. The game consists of 5 rounds:
Round 1: each person must guess the color of the next card in the deck (red or black). If they are right they give out 2 drinks (sips) to anyone (or combination of people) at the table. If they guess wrong they must take 2 drinks themselves.
Round 2: each person must now guess if the next card will be higher or lower than the first card they received (aces are high, and from here on out if you get the same card as a card you already have you must drink double the amount). If you get it right you give out 4 drinks and if you are wrong you must take 4 drinks.
Round 3: Inside or outside, you must now guess if the next card you receive will be inside your 2 cards or outside of it (eg: you have a ten and a 4...you must guess if your next card will be between 4-10 or outside 4-10). This round is worth 6 drinks, so if you are right you give out 6 drinks and if you are wrong you must take 6 drinks.
Round 4: Guess the suit of your next card. This round is worth 8 drinks, so give out 8 if you are right and take 8 drinks if you are wrong
Round 5: Up the River, Down the River. The dealer lays out face down 2 columns of 4 cards with a column of 2 cards in between the larger columns.

The 4 cards from the first part of the game that each person has, now become your hand for the last part of the game. Each card you have is assigned an amount of drinks from 2-14 (a 2 is worth 2 and an ace is worth 14. The first row is the give drinks row and the last row is the take drinks row. The top card of the middle row is give and the bottom is take. The dealer flips a card from each row alternating between columns. If you have that card in your hand you give or take the assigned amount of drinks of that card. If noone has the card then you deal one out from the deck until at least one person has the card. The first 2 cards in each column are worth the assigned amount of each card. The last 2 cards of each column double the amount of drinks the card is worth and the last middle row is triple the amount of drinks. Have fun, get drunk.
